This product contains very strong magnets. Do not let the two sides get near each other without the guard, and be VERY sure your fingers are nowhere near the interior.
Even allowing the two pieces within 6 inches of the other will attract them, and quickly!
This happened to me twice – the first time my fingers were trapped within the center and getting the pieces apart was a monumental feat.

I used it on some pretty grubby double glazed units and I was surprised how clean the window was.
